Haute Plume is a business name, and behind the business is me. My name is Claire Baujard, and I’ve been working as a freelance English to French translator and bilingual copywriter since 2016. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English and Italian) and a Master’s degree in Global & Corporate Communication (I came top of my year!).

I have worked in PR and digital agencies in Paris, and with advertisers on both sides of the English Channel. All of my “traditional” jobs entailed a fair amount of writing. From press releases and press kits to website copy, newsletters, blog posts, brochures and social media posts, I wrote it all. I learned a lot, but I was craving something else.

I’ve always dreamt of working for myself, even when I had no idea what it entailed, so I didn’t think twice about it when the opportunity presented itself. I’ve been building and growing my business ever since, and it’s a real pleasure to do something I enjoy, the way I like it, and to hear how pleased my clients are with the work I do.

The name Haute Plume comes from Haute Couture, which conjures up ideas of meticulousness, craftsmanship, and beauty, and the French expression “avoir une belle plume”, which means having a nice writing style, and is a compliment I have been proud to receive.

I want to work with movers and shakers. I want to help creative and smart people put their best ideas out into the world. I want everyone to know how amazing your business is, and how it makes the world a better place.
